SHARKS 4 HABS 1
Playing with four subs today, the Sharks upend the Frenchmen. Pershing Doughboy Glenn Pareskevin, Pat Collins, Ben Haynes and sub John Zuccarini score for the Fish. Goaler Kenny Lipschutz was excellent in nets! Mike Ala with the lone Habs marker.
WINGS 6 BRUINS 3
Deuces wild for Al Pyc and Jimmy George. Singles for JP and sub Kevin “Jerry” Maguire as the Wings play a solid game and defeat the Bruins. Rick Batchelder, Chuck Mouraine and sub Lawson tally for the men in yellow. No trips to the sin bin for either squad.
FLYERS 3 HAWKS 1
The Flyers dominate this game! If not for the Herculean efforts of Hawks sub goalie “Stopper”, the score could have been much worse! Al Sparks(2) and sub Gary Szalanski score for the Flyers. Right winger Bob Halbhuer with the Hawks goal.
HABS 5 FLYERS 2
Both teams split on the day. Former Soo Greyhound, sub Terry Boyette with the deuce. Singles for Brian Gross, Don Courtley and Kenny Wilkins. Goalie Sir Kevin Beebe with a strong game in nets. Robbie Porter and Bruce Gooel score for the Flyers.
SHARKS 5 WINGS 4
The Sharks jump out to 4-0 first period lead, only to see the Wings roar back and make it very interesting at the end! Pat Collins with a two goal game for the Sharks. Singles for Steve Dietrich and subs Niecalek and Florida resident John Zuccarini. Pat Collins second goal was a simple dump in, as the Wings sub goalie completely fanned on the puck as it slides into the cage! Mark Smyth and James George both with two goal games for the Wings. Chris Zanke of the Sharks picks up an unsportsmanlike minor penalty. Imagine that! A special shout out to Wings sub goalie Rick “Ticker” Chauvin who utilized his cooking skills in the parking lot following the today’s games! Thanks “Ticker”!
HAWKS 2 BRUINS 1
The first place Hawks win their fourth 2-1 game of the young season! Reverting back to the days of youth – Hawks sub goalie Stopper was unbelievable! Stopper made a Johnny Bower type poke check on a breakaway late in the game to keep the score 2-1! Barry Piornack and Billy Hagen dent the twine for the Hawks. Steve “Mario” Lemieux with the Bruins marker, as they drop a deuce today.
