WHOA!
FLYERS 1 HAWKS 1
A goalie battle between Bobby Rutkoske of the Flyers and sub goalie Billy Papciak of the Hawks! Both puck stoppers were excellent between the pipes! Eddie “The Eagle” Higgins with the Hawks goal. Paulie “Knuckles” Polizzi with the Flyers marker.
BRUINS 1 WINGS 1
Another well played 1-1 tie! Steve Lemieux puts the Bruins up 1-0 with just two minutes left in the contest. Then a Bruins defenseman proceeds to cough the puck up and Mike Lawson ties the game up 20 seconds later! A well earned point for both teams. Both goalies – Mike Schlimgen of the Bruins and Dave Gaskey of the Wings with numerous game saving saves!
SHARKS 3 HABS 2
Todd Schurman breaks the 2-2 tie with the game winning goal for the Fish! Rob Lee and Ben Haynes with singles. Barry Piornack and Kenny Wilkins tally for the Frenchmen.
BRUINS 5 HAWKS 1
It happens every week! With the Bruins supreme physical conditioning, they dominate game two! Chuck Mouraine with a two goal game. Steve Lemieux(PP), Dougie Roehl and Bo Altherr also with Bruins goals. I always say – at our level of play, when the goalie comes out too play the puck – no good always happens! That’s exactly what happened, when the Hawks goalie played the puck behind his net onto the stick of Bo Altherr, who went bad angle short-side for the goal! Sub Matt Lawson with the Hawks goal, who played with four subs today. So the Bruins were feeling pretty festive postgame after taking 3 out of 4 points today. Then it happened! A very light cooler, with maybe 15 beverages in it! Plenty of ice though!
SHARKS 4 WINGS 1
The Sharks sweep on the day, handing the Wings their first loss of the season! Todd Schurman with the hat trick! Ben Haynes with the game winning goal. Brian Miller was stellar in nets! Dave Debrincat with the lone Wings goal. As has happened numerous times this season, for whatever reason, the Wings play with nine players.
HABS 5 FLYERS 2
Deuces wild for John “The Little Ball of Hate” Perini and new Detroit Tigers president Scott Harris(See Picture Below) lookalike Mike Ala! Rick Batchleder with a single. Pete Ludwig and Ryan O’Rourke with the Flyers goals, who played with nine players today as they move Ryan back to D.
