BRUINS 2 STARS 1
The story of the game was two coughs by the same Stars right defenseman, as he attempted to do it all by himself. Result – two Bruins goals and a victory! Brian Reath and Mike Nalepa (GW) score for the Bruins. Donnie Riviera with the lone Star goal. Both goalers – “Smoking” Joe Polizzi and Mark Luscki were outstanding between the pipes!

Habs puck stopper Kirk “Captain America” Larson with one of the easiest shutouts you will ever see as he turns 5 shots sway. Right wing Craig Bastuba with all of the Frenchmen’s goals! No Hawks highlights.

Two first period goals were enough for Goalie Billy Mac Jr. and his Leafs teammates. John Cornish and Jeff Sands (GW) score for the men in blue. Andy Helmuth with a nice top shelf laser for the Wings.

The Frenchmen are running on all cylinders as they sweep for the day! Craig Bastuba and sub Hasting with two goals apiece. Wily playmaker Bastuba, now has 8 goals and zero assists in the playoffs. Singles for Rob “Rickie” Middleton and Captain Bryan Prentice. “Downtown” Jimmy Brown, Andy Helmuth, Mike Miller and sub Choudin tally for the Wings as they drop a deuce today. Helmuth picks up his first penalty of the day, as he slashes the Wings Brian Barr saying he “Thought” Barr hit him in the head. When in fact Barr was across the ice and nowhere close to him. Tick, tick, tick.

The GMI line totals 13 points in the game for the top spot Leafs. Jimmy “Jets” Galloway (1 & 2), center Brian Moore (1 & 5) and Jeff Ivory (3 & 1) wreck carnage on Bakers Bruins. Jeff Sands with a single. Rex Baker did his part, with the trick for the Bruins. Brian Reath also with a goal in this penalty free game.
HAWKS 6 STARS 2
After losing 10 consecutive games and getting shut out in their last two games – the Hawks take out a ton of frustration on the Stars! Rockford call up Terry Boyette with the deuce. Singles for fellow sub James Pufffer, “Angry” Joey Ventimiglio (Also 3 Helpers), Pierre Dugas and Paulie “Knuckles” Polizzi. Billy “The Dark” Knight and Mike Riddle tally for the Stars as they drop a deuce today. A scary moment happened in the final period as Stars left winger Mike Riddle lost his balance in the corner and had to be helped off the ice. He is day to day with a lower body injury. Get well Mike!
HABS 3 LEAFS 1
After losing five consecutive games to end the season and after an impassioned pre-game speech by Captain Wilkins – the Frenchmen and embattled goaltender Sir Kevin Beebe put in a stellar effort and upend the startled Leafs. Don Courtley with the game winner just 38 ticks into the final period. Cam “Steamboat” Lawrence and Pat Chimel with the bookend goals. Beebe with possibly his best game of the season in nets! John Zuccarini with a power play tally for the Leafs.
WINGS 4 STARS 3
Deuces wild for Big Ben Haynes and super sniper Gary Enmark. Stars – Jim “Jacques” Lemire, Pat Collins and Howard Smith.
BRUINS 5 HAWKS 0
Picking up where he left off last week ( A 4 Goal Game) – the red hot Bob “Bugsy” Watson with the trick for the Bruins. Line mates Keith Foucher and Dougie Roehl also with goals, as the line totals all of it’s team’s points for a total of 11 in the game! Bobby Rutkoske with the whitewash. No Hawks were flying tonight in this penalty free contest.

The play-off stingy Habs somehow find a way to shut down the Bruins Bobby Watson carnage parade. Sir Kevin Beebe had several Bruins talking to themselves after his highlight reel save exhibit. Bruins net minder Bobby Rutkoske with another mentionable effort in nets. As in game one – Don Courtley and Keith Foucher find the back of the net for their respective teams.
STARS 4 LEAFS 2
1-1 entering the final stanza. The Stars proceed to pump in three goals in the final period for the W. Tommy Trice, Jim Lemire, Al Sparks and “Motor City” Eddie Kowalczyk dent the twine for the Stars. John Zuccarini(Short Handed) and sub Chapie tally for the men in blue. The Leafs Bruce “Cooler Man” Gooel picks up a 2 minute unsportsmanlike penalty followed by an abuse of officials game misconduct penalty and first period exit from the game. His cooler must have been full! Goaltender Stopper racks up a roughing penalty all by himself!
HAWKS 2 WINGS 1
Da Hawks score two final period goals to split for the day. Jimmy George with the game winner. Hawks sub goalie “Roger” Miller with a solid effort in nets. Ben Haynes tallies for the Wings with the an assist from “Supe” who had a Mike Vernon style game. Game was tied 1 – 1 when the Hawks score their 2nd goal, which was a controversial goal, the Wings declare came after the whistle.
