I WOULD LIKE TO EXTEND MY FAREWELL TO THE CREATOR AND MAINTAINER OF THE CURRENT VERSION OF THE MICHIGAN STING WEBSITE. SUPERMAN AND I HAVE COLLABORATED FOR FIVE YEARS NOW AND I WOULD LIKE TO THANK HIM FOR HIS IMMEDIATE POSTING AND RESPONDING TO ANY CURTS CORNER ISSUES. SEE YOU AT THE RINK SOMEWHERE – SUPE!

CONGRATS TO THE STARS AND THE HABS WHO WILL PLAY IN THE SAM CUPP CHAMPIONSHIP GAME NEXT WEEK!

HAWKS 4 LEAFS 3
Gerry Krause slips in the game winning goal with just under a minute left in the contest for the Hawks W. Steve Orr, Mike Ala and James George also with goals. Bruce “Cooler Man” Gooel, John Zuccarini and Al Platt tally for the Leafs in this game of zero championship game consequence.

WINGS 5 BRUINS 2
The Wings jump out to a 4-0 lead and put it in cruise the rest of the way. Big Ben Haynes with the deuce. Singles for Dave “Hammer” Arsenault, Mike Lawson and Keith Lutz. Joe Plati and Keith Foucher find the back of the net for the Bruins.

HABS 4 STARS 2
The Habs make a statement in this preview of next weeks Sam Cupp Championship game! Look out for Kenny Wilkin’s group, as they always seem to throttle it up when it counts most! Pat Chimel with a two goal game. Jeff “Dick” Tracy and “Gentleman” Don Courtley with singles. Ronnie Meltnser and Mike “Cherry” Charison score for the Stars.

WINGS 6 LEAFS 1
What a sendoff for Superman as he plays his final game as a regular player in the Michigan Sting league! The Wings win a deuce along with scoring their most goals in a game, encompassing both the first half and second half and playoffs! I don’t think Superman knew what to do as he witnessed this game! Andy “Joe” Perri strummed in the hat trick. Line mate and fellow musician Paulie “Jay” Giles with a 2 & 3 game and impromptu singing of “It Ain’t Nothing But A House Party” following his second goal! Ben Haynes joined the party with a goal as he mentions something about someone named “Raputa The Buta!” Steve “Barney Miller” Dietrich with the Leafs lone marker as they end the playoffs with only one victory. Following the game Superman and friends convened at The Gathering Place to quench their thirst with allegedly some ginger ales.

BRUINS 2 STARS 2
The Stars end up in second place in the playoffs and will face off next week against the Habs. Eddie “The Eagle” Higgins and sub Jack Jenereaux score for the Stars. Bob “Bugsy” Watson and Dr. Keri Topouzian were the Bruins marksman. Both goalers – Mike Mostyn and Bobby Rutkoske with solid games in nets.

HAWKS 6 HABS 5
Despite the loss, the Habs end up in the top spot in the playoffs and a date with the Stars next week. Jimmy George scores his second goal of the game, which ends up as the game winner as the Habs score at the buzzer. Counselor Tom McHugh, Doug Wargo, Mike Ala and Rick Batchelder also tally for the Hawks. Habs – Kenny Wilkins, Greg Miller, Jeff Tracy, Don Courtley and one of my favorite players – Cam “Steamboat” Lawrence
