IF YOU PLAY THIS GAME LONG ENOUGH YOU WILL CONTINUE TO SEE

THINGS YOU NEVER SAW BEFORE!

LAST SUNDAY NIGHT, IN MY LEAGUE AT HAZEL PARK IN THE OLYMPIC ARENA THE FOLLOWING OCCURRED.

PUCK GETS BEHIND OUR GOALIE, BOTH REFEREE’S  SIGNAL NO GOAL – PUCK DID NOT CROSS THE LINE.

SO, WE LINE UP TO THE LEFT OF OUR GOALIE.

ALL OF SUDDEN, THE SCOREKEEPER IS YELLING FOR ONE OF THE REFEREE’S, AND TOLD HIM THE PUCK DID CROSS THE LINE!

REFEREE IMMEDIATELY SIGNALS TO CENTER ICE AND CALLS IT A GOOD GOAL!

ARE KIDDING ME?  THE SCOREKEEPER MAKES THE CALL?

THE INFAMOUS SCOREKEEPER IS PICTURED ABOVE.

BRUINS    4    WINGS   1

The Steve Lemieux and sub Bobby Watson show, as the line-mates both drop a deuce on the Wings!  Lemieux was the grateful beneficiary of a blatant cough by a Wings defenseman and scores seven ticks into the game!  HOF football player Artie Donovan lookalike(See Picture Below) Keith Lutz with three helpers.  Mom was not in attendance.  Goalie Mike Schlimgen with a light workload.  Wings Captain Paul Giles with a nice one time goal.

SHARKS    3    HABS   0

Sharks puck stopper Brian Miller stood on his proverbial head for the whitewash!  Oakland University iconic basketball head coach Gregg Kampe lookalike(See Picture Below) Bruce Gooel with all three Sharks goals!  No French highlights in this penalty free game.

HAWKS   1    FLYERS   1

Center Robert Stempian scores in the first period for the Hawks and it looked like that may be the final score.  But with three minutes left in the contest, center Steve Orr weaved his way through the Hawks to tie the game up for the Flyers!  Both goalies – Mike Haines of the Flyers and the still fired up Bobby Rutkoske, who attended the Lions playoff win Sunday were spectacular between the pipes!

HAWKS    6     BRUINS   0

The still fired up Bobby Rutkoske blanks the Bruins!  Once again – shut down the Bruins top line and you shut down the Bruins.  Mission accomplished!  Captain Billy Hagen was all over the ice offensively and defensively, as he records the trick!  Adam Godard with the deuce.  Sub Chuck Bowers also with a goal.  Power forwards Jeff Morton and Kenny Perko each with the hat trick assist.

SHARKS   4    WINGS   2

The Wings jump out to a 2-0 first period lead, only to see the Sharks score four times in the final stanza.  Ben Haynes goes twine twice for the Sharks as they sweep on the day!  Singles for Todd Schurman and sub Mike Garlick.  “Black” Jack Priauix and Mark Smyth score for the clipped Wings, who are now winless in their past five contests!

HABS   5     FLYERS   0

The alleged game of the night and the battle for the top spot!  The first place Habs dominate this game, as they score three times in three minutes in the opening period!  Robbie Porter with a two goal game.  Singles for Sammy Bonanno, John “The Little Ball of Hate” Perini and sub Larry “School Boy” Rowe.  Jim Chapie with three assists.  Sub goalie Billy Papciak with a ten save shutout.  No Flyers highlights as they only score one goal in today’s doubleheader as they fielded their entire team with no subs.
