HAWKS    4    SHARKS   2

A tight well played contest as the Hawks seal the game with an empty netter.  Mark Smyth, Jimmy “One Skate” Sauter, Pat Collins and Jeff “Dick” Tracy tally for the Hawks.  Gary Szylanski and Barry Piornack with the Sharks goals.  Both goalies – winning goalie Keith Connie and Mike Schlimgen with excellent games between the pipes.

WINGS   3    HABS   1

John “Hal” McRae with a goal and two helpers leads the Wings to the W.  James George and Chuck Mouraine also with Wings markers.  Goaler Bobby Rutkoske stood on his proverbial head in this game!  Speedster Mike Ala with the lone French goal.  No trips to the box for either squad.

FLYERS   4    BRUINS   3

3-3 entering the final stanza – then Billy Hagen scores a buck into the final period for the game winning goal!  Bruce “Cooler Man” Gooel, Brian Westenberg and sub “Freddy” Lynn also with Flyers goals.  Dr. Keri Topouzian, James Chapie and Mike Harke score for the men in yellow, in this first place ramification game.  Flyers goaler Mike Mostyn picks up a late minor slashing penalty to make things interesting at the finish, as the Flyers kill it off.

FLYERS    3    HAWKS   3

Deuces wild entering the final period.  Sting phenom rookie Billy Hagen scores his third goal of the game at the 14 minute mark of the final period to put the Flyers up 3-2.  Just under two minutes later, Steve Orr of the Hawks scores his second goal of the game to tie it up! Scott Shurin also with a Hawks marker.

SHARKS   6    HABS   6

Goalies – what goalies?  They will not be named in this contest!  Big Ben Haynes with the hat trick for the Fish.  Singles for Gary Szylanski, David Walters and sub Lawson.  Deuces wild for the Mikes – Ala (Also 3 Helpers) and Lawson.  Singles for John Perini and Ronnie Meltsner.

BRUINS  2    WINGS   1

Both teams split on the day.  Randy Debuel with the game winning goal for the top spot Bruins.  Rick Batchelder with the Bruins first marker.  Paulie “Jay – Nothing But a House Party” Giles strums in the Wings lone goal.  Winning goalie Brian Miller and Wings puck stopper Bobby Rutkoske both were stellar in nets!
